 Cherie Blair Cherie Blair was born in Bury (Manchester, England) in 1954 but moved when very young to Liverpool where she grew up. The first member of her family to go to university, she studied law at the London School of Economics. Called to the Bar in 1976, she became a Queens Counsel in 1995 and is a founder member of Matrix Chambers. She sits as a part-time judge, as Recorders are known, and is also an accredited mediator.
Her fellow trainee at her first chambers was Tony Blair. The couple married in 1980 and have four children - the youngest, Leo, being the first child born to a serving Prime Minister for over a century. As well as fighting for human rights in her professional career, Cherie Blair is an active campaigner on equality and human rights issues. In 2008 Ms. Blair founded the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women. The mission of the Foundation is to promote and actively support women’s economic empowerment in developing countries by offering better access to resources, business training and network opportunities. Mrs Blair is closely involved with over 20 charities with a special emphasis on women and children. |  Deepika Bajaj Deepika Bajaj is the founder and president of Invincibelle, a company empowering a diverse, multi generational workforce and women to thrive in a multicultural world. Prior to starting her company, Deepika has more than eight years of experience in telecommunications consulting and corporate marketing.
She has served on the board of various professional organizations including the National Society of Hispanic MBAs and Women in Intel. Deepika is currently writing two books. The first one (yet to be named) speaks to her experiences of being a global citizen and what is shaping the new voice of diversity. The second book is called "DiversityTweet:140 bite-sized ideas about celebrating diversity." She speaks and consults on diversity, blogs at www.deepikabajaj.com and writes a column on social media for ActiveGarage. She is in the process to launch a new blog Diverseconomy.com.
